Le Monde – Bringing Dance to Young People worldwide
Le Monde, a leading French daily newspaper, highlights Dance Can Do Project’s performance at Necker Hospital in Paris, showcasing the impact of dance on young patients.
Dance Can Do brings young people around the world into dance
The Swiss association works with sick, poor, or migrant children and adolescents to introduce them to ballet or hip-hop.
The image has remained etched in our memory. In the corridors of Necker Hospital in Paris, a princess in a purple velvet tutu and a prince in a green doublet, masked due to health restrictions, wait before going into the recovery and play room to greet the sick children with a few pirouettes. It was November 10, 2020. Léonore Baulac and Hugo Marchand, stars of the Paris National Opera, were passing by, as they have been regularly since 2018, and shared their stories on their Instagram accounts.
Hugo Marchand, dancer: “Instinctively, I felt that The What Dance Can Do Project made sense to me. It’s a bit like the Restos du Coeur of dance.”
